Labor Day 2009

Yo People!

We had a wonderful 3 day weekend. Playing with our newest family member, little Hailey Michelle Lahman. Sarah attempted a garage sell 2 days in a row, but got rained out. A nice neighbor did stop by and donate a bunch of other stuff she could sell. It's all in my garage now. Life is like a box of chocolates.. I did 2 puppet shows on Sunday, 1 for each of the 2 services. The kids seemed to love it.. I hope the got message which was about the Good Samaritan. Love your neighbor! That reminds me.. Our other neighbors who are Russian, brought us over a large bag of pears the other day. Susan made 3 pear pies which were incredibily delicious. We took 2 of them to Church for the BBQ we had on Sunday afternoon. Yesterday which was Labor Day, I went fishing from the banks of the Columbia River up in Kalama Washington. My friend, Hans caught a squaw fish and I didn't catch a darn thing. He was smart enough to wear rain gear, and I was smart enough to find a big log to crawl under when it started raining. In case you are picturing a Texas sized log, let me remind you that the logs out here are BIG! Like the size of a car, so I was able to stay dry. Anyways, believe it or not, I had a wonderful time fishing even though I got skunked. Where we were fishing, there was a large totem pole. I told my friend that I was going to put a sign saying that it represented his family tree.. get it?? it doesn't fork!! we got a chuckle out of that one. Hope everyone else had as much fun as us. Come see us sometime soon! Love to all.
